The month of March kicks off the Read Across America Campaign. Many schools across the United States are taking the month of March to educate the public on the importance of reading. The campaign uses Dr. Suess’s birthday, March 2nd, to begin the festivities. At Brookside, we will also take part in the celebration. We will be working with the children on Nursery Rhymes.
During March, we are asking that parents volunteer to come into school to read to the children at story time. Each parent that comes in can select a book from home with their child to share with the children at school. There are many wonderful books and we look forward to hearing some new stories along with some of our favorite classics. If anyone is interested in volunteering, please see one of the teachers to schedule a day of reading
